Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 lb Grnd sirloin
  • 1/4 c. Finely minced red onion
  • 1/4 c. Tiny capers, liquid removed
  • 1/4 c. Dijon mustard
  • 2 x Ripe plum tomatoes, seeded, diced
  • 2 x Egg yolks
  • 1 tsp Each: caraway seeds, freshly grnd pepper
  • 4 Tbsp. Coarsely grated part-skim mozzarella (up to 6)
  • 4 x Sandwich buns

  1. Preparation Time: 20 min
  2. Cooking Time: 8-10 min
  3. Yield: 4 servings
  4. Heat broiler. Combine sirloin, onion, capers, mustard, tomatoes, egg yolks, caraway seeds and pepper in a bowl, gently tossing with your hands.
  5. Don't overmix.
  6. Make 8 patties from meat mix. Make small indentation in center of four of the patties and place some of grated mozzarella in each. Top patties with remaining meat; healthy pinch edges to seal.
  7. Broil 4 to 5 min on each side for medium rare. Turn carefully; burgers will be crumbly. Serve on hot sandwich buns.
