Receta Stuffed Potato Bun
Stuffed Potato Bun came out delicious. This you will get it in a Bakery especially in South India(Mysore & Bangalore). This is a very popular evening snack. When i was making this i remembered my childhood days when we used to go out to bakeries to eat this. Its soft and a with mixture of potato. Its Yum!!
- Prep Time : 2 Mins + 1 hrs dough in size
- Cook Time : 20-25 Mins
- Ingredients
- Maida / Allpurpose flour - 500 grms
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Warm milk - 95ml
- Dry Yeast - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1/2 tso (adjust as per taste)
- Unsalted butter - 50 grms
- Potato Mixture
- Boiled potatoes - 4 (mashed)
- Peas & Carrots - 1/4 cup (i used frozen)
- Curry leaves - few
- Green chillies - 1 or 2
- Coriander leaves - 1 tsp ,chopped
- Salt to taste
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Chanadal - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Asafoetida / hing - a pinch
- Turmeric - a pinch
Method for potato mixture
Take a pan add oil then add turmeri, mustard seeds allow to splutter, add chana dal , hing saute
Add curry leaves, chillies, peas and carrots stir fry then add boiled mashed potatoes
Add salt and corinader mix well and keep aside
Method
In a bowl heat milk add yeast and sugar dissolve and keep aside for 5 mins.
Sift maida and keep aside
After 5 mins add butter into flour, salt and mix well then add yeast milk and mix the flour well. knead the dough for 10 mins on kitchen counter table. Brush the oil in a bowl and rest the dough under thick cloth for an hour till it double in size.
Pre - heat the oven
Divide the dough into round balls
Place the 2tsp of potato mixture and close all the sides and place it in the baking tray
Prepare the rest of the dough
Brush a little milk on top of each bun and bake at 400F for 20 mins
