Foto actual de la receta

Cut, cleaned and ready to steam
Pureed and ready to bag & freeze.
So how did we go from that to this & with what tools?
We cut the pumpkin in half & scooped out the seeds and fibers
We cleaned the seeds for next year - it didn't take as long as you think
We selected the plumpest and best-formed seeds to plant next Spring. Now for the 'How to':
After you halve the pumpkins and clean them out, cut the quarters into halves, the halves into chunks
Put the chunks into the steamer
When the pieces look translucent, it is time to poke them with a fork
Easy in ? - time to come out and cool down
Once cooled, the skin will pare right off
First, do a rough mash - they will puree more easily with the immersion blender
Ah! The chef's magic wand. Puree away - get it all creamy and smooth
I know - it looks like my cornbread batter - but it's the pumpkin
It is sweet and smooth and ready to move - right into our ziplock bags and the freezer
It does not get fresher than this friends - keep some out and MAKE SOMETHING!
Vacuum seal it in 1 and 2 cup individual bags - that way you can defrost exactly the number of cups you will need for any recipe - without 'leftovers'. Label the content, date and volume in each bag and put 2 or 3 bags in a larger ziplock to freeze, if y
An immersion blender or food processor
A potato masher of some sort
A very sharp chef's knife or a cleaver and a very sharp utility or paring knife
A basket in which you can steam the pumpkin chunks
