Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. Blanched almonds
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 c. All purpose flour sifted
  • 1/3 c. Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 c. Butter or possibly margarine
  • 1 x Egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp Almond extract
  • 1 x Slightly beaten egg white

Direcciones

  1. Grind almonds in blender. Mix 2 tbs almonds with 2 tbs sugar and set aside. Combine remaining almonds, flour, 1/3 c. sugar and salt. Cut in butter till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Add in eg gyolk and almond extract; mix well.
  2. Divide dough into six portions on lightly floured surface.
  3. With floured hands, roll each portion into a rope 12" long.
  4. Brush tops generously with egg white. Sprinkle with reserved almond-sugar mix. Cut each strip into cookies 2 inches long. Place on-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 14-15 min. Cold 5 min before removing.
  5. Makes 3 dozen sticks. JM
