Ingredientes

  • 3 1/3 c. Basic Cake Mix
  • 3/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 large eggs, well beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 c. soft butter
  • 3 c. sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 T grated orange peel
  • 3 T orange juice

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and lightly flour two 8-inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, put together Basic Cake Mix and lowfat milk. Beat at medium speed 2 min. Scrape bowl and beaters.Add in large eggs and vanilla. Beat 2 more min. Pour into prepared pans. Bake 25-30 min till a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans 10 min, then cool on wire racks. Prepare Orange Butter Cream Frosting. Frost cooled cake. Makes one 2-layer cake.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar. Add in grated orange peel and orange juice. Beat till smooth. Makes sufficient frosting for one cake.Variation: To make orange cake, add in 1 tsp grated orange peel to Basic Cake Mix. Substitute 1/2 tsp lemon extract for vanilla. Frost with Orange Butter Cream Frosting.
