Receta Super Healing Chicken Noodle Soup: College Student Action Plan to Beating a Cold Quickly
You’ve caught a cold. That’s the pits, especially since you’re living at school.
At least when you were living at your parent's place you had someone to nurse you back to health. Without mommy, daddy or grandma around it’s all on your shoulders to get yourself feeling better.
My suggestion is to put your “What to Do If I Get Sick at College Action Plan” into effect.
You don’t have one of those? That's not good.
Here's one you can use. It only involves 3 steps.
While you’re healthy, prepare a big batch of SUPER...HEALING...SOOOUP (echo, echo). When I was sick my mom fed me homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. I’ve stuck with that one for getting over a cold. Mom knows best, right?
In fact, last night I put “step 1” into action (because this plan also works for a married guy with 2 kids). I experimented by using leftover baked barbecue chicken in the soup. Turned out good!
Once your magical super healing soup is cooked, let it cool. Store portions in freezer bags and lay them flat in the freezer so you can stack them. If you’re planning to freeze Chicken Noodle Soup, omit the noodles. They’ll suck up all the broth and grow to an enormous size. Add the noodles in step 3.
When you catch your next rotten cold, immediately text someone…girlfriend, boyfriend, friend, roomie. Play the sympathy card and mention you feel like crap. There’s a chance he or she might actually come over to your place and help you out. If this small miracle occurs (good on you) ask if he or she would mind carrying out the last step of your action plan.
It's IMPORTANT to mention the "ACTION PLAN".
By mentioning you have a recovery plan and have already taken steps to prepare the soup, it's more likely your boyfriend, girlfriend or whomever will be open to taking the soup out of the freezer and heating it up for you. If it’s Chicken Noodle Soup, mention you like noodles in it.
It’s more likely that you’ll have to find an ounce of energy to do the last easy step yourself.
Song Suggestion: How about a little ditty by two blokes up to their necks in sand who make themselves feel better (about their dire situation) by singing a happy soup song.
