I chose Vanilla Swiss Almond by Haagen-dazs. I have also tried several of Ben and Jerry's flavors.
The scalded milk mixture was poured directly on the eggs and stirring began immediately...now add the yeast.
Becoming difficult to stir.
...worked in more flour...
...becoming stiff...switched to rubber spatula or big wooden spoon. This starting to look proper.
Letting it rise with a big pinch of flour...
It's almost double...going to proceed anyway...
Uhm..No. That is not yet a rectangle. Lol. Push it, flip it, stretch it. 8x5 inch rectangle would be close enough. Roll it and tug until 15 inch long.
Simple 3 rope braid...
Onto the pan...curve and tuck...crimp ends together as desired.
Applied the egg wash with silicone brush. Do not use an old style brush because it will shed onto the food.
Marcona Almonds are more fragrant and less bitter than other types.
20-25 minutes at 400F...or 30 minutes at 375F. You know your oven best. Check on it a few times.
