Sweet 'N Sour Chicken Wings

Ingredientes

  • 3 lbs. broiler-wings
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 c. cornstarch
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 T catsup
  • 1/2 c. red currant jelly or possibly apricot jam
  • 2 T lemon juice (bottled works)

Direcciones

  1. Cut wings at joint to make two pcs each. Rinse and dry on paper toweling. Heat oil in large saucepan to 375 degrees on deep fat frying thermometer. Roll wing sections in cornstarch then dip in egg to coat evenly. Deep fry 3 to 4 at a time till lightly golden brown, about 5 min. Drain on paper toweling. Place in shallow baking pan. Put together soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, catsup, jelly and lemon juice in saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Lower heat, simmer 10 min. Pour over chicken. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min till glazed.
