Ingredientes

  • 1/2 lb grnd lamb
  • 1 med onion (finely minced)
  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 x cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 c. pine nuts
  •     (Bulgur can be found in most supermarkets. Look for Near East brand Taboule Wheat Salad mix)
  • 2 box (5.5 ounce. each) Near East brand Taboule Wheat Salad mix
  • 1 lb grnd lamb
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 med onion (finely minced)
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  •     Filling

Direcciones

  1. Sautee onion in extra virgin olive oil till browned.
  2. Add in grnd lamb and seasonings, then fry till all the meat starts to brown. Make sure meat is minced up fine.
  3. Add in the pine nuts and reduce heat to hot.
  4. Bulgur:Dump the 2 boxes of Taboule into a bowl (don't use the seasoning packs which come with wheat salad mix).
  5. Cover Taboule with about an inch of water and let mix settle till water becomes cloudy.
  6. Carefully drain out the water and repeat the rinse two more times. After the last rinse, cover Taboule with another inch of water and let set for 15 min.
  7. Drain Taboule and squeeze out all excess water.
  8. Add in minced onion, seasonings, extra virgin olive oil and meat, then mix thoroughly with hands. A food processor can be used for this process, but your hands will work just as good. Make sure all ingredients are mixed together well.
  9. Final
  10. Preparation:Preheat oven to 400 degrees and lightly grease a pie pan with extra virgin olive oil.
  11. Using half the bulgur mix, line the pie pan and spread proportionately.
  12. Add in the filing mix and cover with the remaining bulgur.
  13. Coat top surface with extra virgin olive oil and bake for 40 min.
  14. Remove from oven and preheat broiler, then return Kibbeh to oven for 5 min.
  15. Remove from oven and let cold for 10 min and serve.
