Tangy Lentil Curry ( Khatti Dal )

Ingredientes

  • 1 tsp gram lentils
  • 450 ml water
  • 4 tsp sunfower oil
  • 1 tsp black mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tsp aniseed
  • 1 tsp ajowan seeds
  • 2 x bay leaves
  • 1 lrg onion minced finely
  • 1 tsp turmeric pwdr
  • 4 tsp lemon juice
  •     salt

Direcciones

  1. Simmer the lentils in the water till soft.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and add in the mustard seeds.
  3. When they pop add in all the other seeds and the bay leaves.
  4. Fry for a minute.
  5. Add in the onions and fry till golden brown.
  6. Pour in the cooked lentils and add in the tummeric lemon juice and salt.
  7. Simmer for 5 min to blend well.
  8. This recipe is a basic lentil dish which can be eaten with rice or possibly rotis.
  9. Serves 4
