Travel only thirty minutes south of the Los Angeles airport (LAX) to find family-friendly paradise at Terranea (terra-NAY-ah) Oceanfront Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
Recently, I flew to Southern California for a relaxing yet educational get-away with seven other food blogging friends at Terranea Resort. Our time together was short, but thanks to our lovely planner, we managed to pack in ultimate learning sessions, rejuvenating work-outs, and exceptional dining.

%20to%20find%20family-friendly%20paradise%20at%20Terranea%20(terra-NAY-ah)%20Oceanfront%20Resort%20in%20Rancho%20Palos%20Verdes,%20CA.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecently,%20I%20flew%20to%20Southern%20California%20for%20a%20relaxing%20yet%20educational%20get-away%20with%20seven%20other%20food%20blogging%20friends%20at%20Terranea%20Resort.%20%20Our%20time%20together%20was%20short,%20but%20thanks%20to%20our%20lovely%20planner,%20we%20managed%20to%20pack%20in%20ultimate%20learning%20sessions,%20rejuvenating%20work-outs,%20%20and%20exceptional%20dining.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20other%20dynamic%20women%20in%20attendance,%20all%20who%20I%20completely%20respect%20and%20adore%20in%20this%20business%20(from%20left%20to%20right):%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlthough%20I%20missed%20the%20first%20day%20of%20the%20retreat%20because%20of%20delayed%20flights%20and%20didn%E2%80%99t%20arrive%20until%20almost%201:00AM,%20I%20still%20managed%20to%20wake%20up%20with%20Lindsay%20and%20Liz%20for%20the%206:00AM%20Seaside%20Cycling%20class%20at%20Terranea%E2%80%99s%20Fitness%20and%20Wellness%20Center.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20instructor%20was%20so%20fun,%20and%20the%20scenery%20could%20not%20be%20beat!%20%20Working%20out%20to%20a%20beautiful%20sunrise%20while%20watching%20whales%20in%20the%20distance%20is%20my%20kind%20of%20exercise!%20%20It%20was%20the%20perfect%20prep%20for%20our%20day%20ahead.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20the%20cycling%20class,%20we%20walked%20around%20the%20resort%20to%20catch%20a%20few%20more%20views%20of%20the%20coastal%20scenery%20and%20take%20in%20the%20fresh%20air.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20then%20headed%20back%20to%20our%20villa%20for%20breakfast%20which%20was%20graciously%20sponsored%20both%20days%20by%20Stonyfield%20and%20Nature%E2%80%99s%20Path%20Organic.%20(Thank%20you!)%20%20Each%20morning%20I%20looked%20forward%20to%20our%20rainbow%20of%20yogurts,%20oatmeal,%20fruit,%20nuts%20and%20other%20heart-healthy%20choices!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDuring%20and%20after%20breakfast,%20we%20started%20the%20most%20beneficial%20part%20of%20the%20weekend%20%E2%80%93%20learning%20from%20each%20other!%20%20We%20took%20the%20next%20few%20hours%20to%20sit%20together%20in%20our%20relaxing%20accommodations%20(the%20living%20room%20of%20our%20villa!)%20and%20teach%20one%20another%20the%20best%20and%20worst%20practices%20of%20the%20blogging%20world.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20took%20a%20lunch%20break,%20but%20continued%20our%20conversations%20through%20our%20meal%20%E2%80%94%20which,%20by%20the%20way,%20was%20a%20gorgeous%20setting%20right%20outside%20our%20villa%E2%80%99s%20patio,%20overlooking%20the%20golf%20course%20AND%20oceanfront!%20%20Lunch%20was%20provided%20by%20the%20Terranea%20chefs,%20using%20locally%20grown%20ingredients%20and%20some%20grown%20right%20in%20the%20Terranea%20gardens!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20lunch%20we%20spent%20a%20little%20time%20at%20the%20pool.%20%20As%20I%20was%20lounging%20in%20my%20chair,%20I%20called%20Ben%20and%20told%20him%20how%20much%20I%20loved%20Terranea%20and%20could%20see%20our%20kids%20loving%20it,%20too.%20%20The%20family%20pool%20includes%20a%20twisty%20water%20slide%20and%20splash%20pad,%20while%20there%20is%20a%20separate%20adult%20pool%20for%20the%20ultimate%20relaxation.%20%20On%20top%20of%20that,%20there%20are%20numerous%20family%20activities%20such%20as%20kayaking,%20paddle%20boarding,%20discovery%20trails%20to%20name%20a%20few.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20late%20afternoon,%20we%20enjoyed%20a%20cocktail%20hour%20with%20appetizers%20and%20fire%20pit%20s%E2%80%99mores%20at%20Nelson%E2%80%99s,%20a%20casual%20Terranea%20restaurant.%20%20Once%20again,%20we%20were%20overlooking%20the%20ocean%20and%20enjoyed%20watching%20the%20sunset%20and%20whales%20swimming%20by!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20in%20love%20with%20Terranea%20and%20hope%20to%20have%20the%20chance%20to%20visit%20again%20%E2%80%94%20maybe%20next%20time%20with%20my%20family!%20%20We%20may%20not%20have%20an%20opportunity%20to%20travel%20to%20an%20exotic%20island,%20but%20I%20know%20we%20can%20manage%20flying%20to%20the%20west%20coast%20and%20experiencing%20the%20same%20paradise%20at%20a%20fraction%20of%20the%20cost.%20%20No%20passport%20or%2010%20hour%20flight%20necessary.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDisclosure:%20%20I%20was%20not%20compensated%20for%20this%20article.%20%20All%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%20%20A%20gigantic%20thank%20you%20to%20our%20trip%20sponsors:%20%20Travel%20and%20food%20expenses%20were%20provided%20by%20Nature%E2%80%99s%20Path%20Organic%20and%20Stonyfield.%20%20Our%20beautiful%20accommodations%20were%20hosted%20by%20Terranea%20Resort.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
