Ingredientes

  • 1 tsp peanut oil
  • 5 x garlic cloves chopped
  • 3 x shallots chopped
  • 3 c. fish or possibly chicken stock
  • 2 Tbsp. fish sauce - (if Nam Pla not available, use any oriental fish sauce)
  • 1/4 lb crabmeat shells removed
  • 1/4 lb shrimp shells removed
  • 1 can creamed corn - (15 ounce)
  • 1/2 tsp black peppercorns cracked
  • 1 x egg beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. minced cilantro

Direcciones

  1. In a large saucepan, saute/fry the garlic and shallots in the oil till they are light brown. Add in the stock, fish sauce, crab, shrimp, corn, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, pour in the beaten egg, and stir to create egg strands. Boil for another minute, then ladle into soup bowls and top with a sprinkling of cilantro.
  2. Comments: Thick and rich, this soup from Thailand is sufficient as a meal; serve warm to 3 to 4 people.
