Receta Thanksgiving Leftovers Casserole and lots of ideas for Thanksgiving Leftovers!
After the big Thanksgiving meal...how many of us are faced with a fridge full of leftovers and few ideas on how to re-create them into a whole new meal?
Kraft® has got you covered with this recipe. It's a great way to use up some of those leftovers (or if you are missing a leftover or two) make from scratch. Stove Top Stuffing® makes the "crust" layer (or use your own leftover stuffing) followed by a creamy turkey/vegetable layer made creamy with the help of Kraft® mayonnaise and topped with cheesy mashed potatoes (your leftover mashed potatoes mixed with Kraft® shredded cheese). It's easy to assemble and only takes 30 minutes to bake up!
Kraft® and Allrecipes have teamed up this month to bring you this delicious Thanksgiving Leftovers Casserole. (Disclaimer: I have been provided with product for this recipe review from Kraft and Allrecipes, but all opinions are mine.) I'll be honest, when I made it, I was really skeptical. I didn't think this would be something myself or my family would like...but we ended up really enjoying it.
You can find the recipe HERE, but to lighten it up, I made the following changes:
I reduced the amount of butter called for in the Stove Top Stuffing® preparation to 1 TBS and I used unsalted butter.
I only used the turkey breast meat
I used Kraft® Mayo with Olive Oil instead of regular mayonnaise or Miracle Whip®. Kraft ® Mayo with Olive Oil is only 45 calories per serving with 4g of fat, compared to regular mayonnaise which has 90 calories a serving and 10g of fat.
I added a tsp of poultry seasonings to the turkey/veg/mayo layer to spice it up a bit.
I made the mashed potatoes with 2TBS of unsalted butter and 1% milk.
- I used Kraft® Finely Shredded 2% reduced fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese in the potato topping
- I garnished with green onions
I am not going to provide nutritional information for this dish, as it will vary according to the ingredients in your leftovers.

I have to admit, my family is not big on leftovers. We will usually do one more meal after Thanksgiving with the leftovers in their original state, but after that, they just seem to sit.
When I am able to re-create those leftovers into something different, my family is more apt to eat them. Since I hate wasting food, I like having an arsenal of ideas to use them up with. If I haven't given you enough places to find inspiration yet, here are a few more great ideas to use up those leftovers on:
