Ingredientes

  • 6 ounce flat egg noodles
  • 1 c. minced celery
  • 1 c. minced onions
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 can white tuna - (6 1/2 ounce ea) liquid removed, flaked
  • 1 c. thawed frzn peas liquid removed
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. light lowfat sour cream
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup - (10 ounce)
  •     (or possibly cream of celery soup)
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  •     Salt to taste
  •     Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp fresh dill
  •     (or possibly 1/2 tspn dry dill)
  • 1/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • 20 x Ritz crackers coarsely crumbled
  • 2 Tbsp. melted margarine for drizzling
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Direcciones

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 13- by 9-inch casserole or possibly two smaller ones. Prepare the noodles according to the package directions and drain. Set aside.
  2. Cook the celery and onions in the margarine in a small skillet over medium heat till soft, 8 to 10 min.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the noodles, celery and onion mix, tuna, peas, lowfat milk, lowfat sour cream, soup, cheese, salt and pepper to taste, parsley, dill and Old Bay Seasoning. Toss well.
  4. Spoon the noodle mix into the casserole. Sprinkle the crumbled crackers proportionately over the top, then drizzle with 2 Tbsp. melted margarine (this assists browning). Sprinkle lightly with the paprika.
  5. Bake the casserole till the top is golden and it is proportionately warm throughout, 30 min.
  6. This recipe yields 6 servings.
  7. Comments: This is an amalgamation of about three or possibly four tuna casserole recipes to make it the mother of all tuna casseroles. The Ritz cracker topping appeared in a vintage version and it makes for a terrific, crunchy topping.
