%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20realized%20when%20I%20first%20began%20to%20work%20through%20the%20recipe%20though%20.%20.%20.%2025g%20of%20yeast%20.%20.%20.%20it%20was%20far%20too%20much,%20it%20was%20almost%20half%20the%20tin%20of%20my%20granulated%20yeast.%20%20I%20decided%20that%20the%20recipe%20must%20be%20referring%20to%20fresh%20yeast,%20which%20obviously%20would%20be%20quite%20different.%20%20And%20so%20I%20measured%20out%201%201/2%20tsp%20of%20yeast%20which%20is%20what%20is%20in%20most%20packets%20of%20%20dried%20yeast,%20or%207g.%20%20I%20also%20added%20a%20bit%20of%20sugar%20to%20the%20milk%20and%20warmed%20it%20a%20bit%20so%20that%20it%20would%20get%20started%20properly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20when%20I%20was%20kneading%20it%20together,%20the%20dough%20was%20very,%20very%20stiff%20.%20.%20.%20and%20so%20I%20decided%20to%20add%20a%20bit%20more%20milk%20to%20it%20until%20I%20had%20a%20dough%20which%20I%20felt%20was%20the%20right%20consistency.%20%20Firm,%20but%20not%20too%20solid%20.%20.%20.%20and%20neither%20too%20sticky.%20%20Firm%20and%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20took%20my%20dough%20roughly%20twice%20the%20recommended%20time%20in%20the%20original%20recipe%20to%20rise%20to%20what%20I%20thought%20it%20should%20in%20the%20first%20rising.%20%20I%20was%20very%20nervous%20about%20this,%20wondering%20if%20I%20had%20done%20something%20wrong%20.%20.%20.%20it%20was%20a%20nail%20biting,%20on%20the%20edge%20moment,%20but%20I%20persevered.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERolled%20it%20out%20as%20required,%20spread%20it%20with%20butter,%20yada,%20yada,%20yada%20%20.%20.%20.%20I%20had%20severe%20doubts%20if%20I%20would%20be%20very%20successful%20with%20these%20buns,%20but%20in%20for%20a%20penny%20in%20for%20a%20pound.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20second%20rising,%20I%20put%20them%20into%20my%20oven%20on%20the%20dough%20rise%20program.%20%20I%20still%20wasn't%20sure%20if%20these%20were%20going%20to%20turn%20out.%20%20Call%20it%20a%20lack%20of%20faith%20in%20my%20yeast%20baking%20prowess%20.%20.%20.%20call%20it%20whatever%20you%20want.%20%20I%20am%20not%20very%20confident%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20baking%20with%20yeast.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrushed%20with%20egg%20and%20sprinkled%20with%20some%20candy%20pearl%20cake%20sprinkles%20.%20.%20.%20I%20baked%20them%20and%20wowsa,%20wowsa%20.%20.%20.%20I%20was%20so%20surprised.%20%20These%20turned%20out%20really%20nicely!%20%20Perhaps%20not%20quite%20as%20light%20and%20fluffy%20as%20the%20ones%20you%20buy%20in%20the%20shops%20.%20.%20.%20but%20quite,%20quite%20edible.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETodd%20ate%20three%20while%20they%20were%20still%20warm%20with%20his%20mid-afternoon%20cuppa%20.%20.%20.%20I%20feel%20a%20lot%20more%20confident%20about%20my%20yeast%20bread%20baking%20prowess.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20wonder%20what%20they%20will%20be%20baking%20in%20November???%20Hmmm%20.%20.%20.%20the%20Sunvil%20Supper%20Club.%20%20I'll%20have%20to%20check%20back%20to%20see%20what%20they%20are%20doing.%20%20Fingers%20cross%20no%20yeast%20is%20involved!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Swedish%20Cinnamon%20Buns*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%2012%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20Swedish%20national%20favourite!%20%20Fabulous!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Erounds,%201/2%20inch%20thick.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20rounds%20into%20paper%20muffin%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecases,%20with%20the%20cut%20edge%20facing%20upwards.%20%20Place%20onto%20a%20large%20baking%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esheet.%20%20Cover%20with%20a%20tea%20towel%20and%20allow%20to%20raise%20again%20for%20another%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehour,%20in%20a%20warm%20place%20until%20doubled%20in%20size.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20risen,%20beat%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etogether%20the%20egg%20and%20water%20and%20brush%20the%20tops%20of%20the%20buns%20carefully%20with%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethis%20mixture.%20%20Sprinkle%20with%20the%20pearl%20sugar%20(or%20more%20cinnamon)%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebake%20in%20a%20225*C/425*F/%20gas%20mark%207%20oven%20for%20around%2010%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20humble%20sweet%20treat,%20more%20commonly%20known%20as%20kanelbulle%20in%20Sweden%20is%20a%20national%20favourite,%20and%20one%20that%20has%20been%20copied%20across%20many%20parts%20of%20the%20world.%20They%20have%20been%20covered%20with%20a%20layer%20of%20icing%20in%20Belgium%20and%20the%20United%20States,%20and%20filled%20with%20raisins%20in%20the%20UK,%20but%20those%20with%20a%20simple%20scattering%20of%20sugar%20on%20the%20top%20are%20the%20original%20Swedish%20favourite.%20Often%20made%20when%20guests%20are%20expected%20over%20for%20coffee,%20they%20have%20become%20so%20popular%20that%20in%20recent%20years%20it%20has%20been%20given%20its%20very%20own%20day%20%E2%80%93%20kanelbulle%20dag.%20Literally%20translated%20as%20%E2%80%98cinnamon%20bun%20day%E2%80%99,%20it%20is%20now%20celebrated%20in%20Sweden%20and%20around%20much%20of%20northern%20Europe%20each%20year%20on%20the%204th%20October.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20a%20more%20Festive%20note,%20it%20may%20only%20be%20the%20beginning%20of%20November,%20but%20Christmas%20will%20be%20here%20before%20we%20know%20it%20and%20once%20again,%20I%20have%20created%20a%20lovely%20
