%20hollandaise.%20I'm%20sounding%20annoyingly%20smug%20now%20but%20one%20of%20the%20reasons%20I%20invested%20was%20to%20make%20sauces%20that%20I%20found%20to%20be%20too%20much%20of%20a%20faff.%20%20There's%20still%20the%20jug%20to%20wash%20after%20it's%20done%20it's%20magic%20but%20the%20dishwasher%20can%20take%20care%20of%20that.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20salmon%20and%20asparagus%20were%20cooked%20in%20the%20Varoma%20(a%20fancy%20name%20for%20the%20steamer)%20and%20the%20new%20potatoes%20in%20the%20steamer%20basket%20which%20sits%20inside%20the%20jug.%20%20After%20these%20were%20cooked%20I%20then%20got%20to%20work%20making%20the%20sauce%20using%20the%20whisk%20attachment%20but%20don't%20forget%20to%20wash%20the%20jug%20and%20cool%20down%20with%20cold%20water%20otherwise%20the%20hollandaise%20will%20turn%20to%20scrambled%20eggs%20when%20you%20put%20the%20egg%20yolks%20into%20the%20jug.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20sauce%20isn't%20the%20recommended%20Thermomix%20recipe,%20but%20I%20did%20use%20the%20method%20given%20in%20The%20Basic%20Cook%20Book%20which%20is%20supplied%20with%20the%20Thermie.%20I%20spent%20a%20few%20minutes%20Googling%20and%20came%20up%20with%20a%20recipe%20using%20less%20butter,%20the%20result%20was%20a%20thinner%20sauce%20but%20I%20found%20it%20perfect%20for%20this%20meal.%20Brilliantly%20this%20sauce%20cooks%20in%204%20minutes!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESauce%20being%20whiskedPotatoes%20in%20the%20steamer%20basket%20take%20about%2030/40%20minutes%20to%20cookSalmon%20takes%20approximately%2020%20minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDepending%20how%20thick%20the%20asparagus%20stalks%20are%20this%20should%20take%20between%2010%20and%2020%20minutes%20to%20cook%20in%20the%20Varoma.Asparagus%20being%20steamedFor%20a%20Thin%20Hollandaise%20Sauce%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Add%20the%20egg%20yolks,%20cold%20water,%20lemon%20juice%20and%20seasoning%20to%20the%20jug.%20%20Place%20the%20whisk%20on%20the%20blade.%20Whisk%20on%20speed%203%20until%20doubled%20in%20size.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Making%20sure%20the%20Measuring%20Cup%20is%20placed%20on%20the%20lid.%204%20mins/70C/Speed%203,%20steadily%20pour%20the%20melted%20butter%20onto%20the%20lid%20and%20it%20will%20slowly%20go%20trickle%20down%20into%20the%20jug%20and%20the%20sauce%20will%20thicken.%20Check%20to%20see%20if%20any%20more%20lemon%20juice%20and%20seasoning%20is%20required.%20Pour%20into%20a%20jug%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20still%20getting%20to%20know%20my%20Thermie%20but%20to%20date%20I'm%20really%20pleased%20with%20the%20results.%20I%20know%20part%20of%20the%20sales%20talk%20is%20that%20it%20will%20replace%20all%20my%20kitchen%20gadgets%20but%20I've%20bought%20a%20shed%20load%20of%20gadgets%20over%20the%20years%20and%20reviewed%20lots%20too%20and%20I%20wouldn't%20part%20with%20any%20of%20them%20even%20though%20I%20may%20use%20them%20less%20often.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt's%20a%20shame%20you%20can't%20buy%20the%20Thermomix%20from%20stores%20but%20that's%20how%20they%20sell.%20My%20local%20demonstrator%20Marta%20is%20a%20Team%20Leader%20and%20really%20knows%20her%20product.%20%20Recently%20I%20was%20invited%20to%20a%20fun%20morning%20watching%20Marta%20and%20a%20team%20of%20demonstrators%20putting%20the%20machine%20through%20it's%20paces.%20%20It%20was%20a%20class%20aimed%20at%20people%20who%20had%20recently%20bought%20a%20machine%20or%20were%20keen%20to%20see%20a%20demonstration%20-%20it's%20a%20great%20way%20to%20meet%20new%20people%20too!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThermomix%20%23boughtbymeforme%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
