Receta Toad in the Hole with Apple and Onion
Think of this as Yorkshire Pudding with Sausage, Apple and Onion. Use a larger baking dish for more people.

- Place the rack as low as possible in the oven and set to 425°F
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour with the salt and a pinch of pepper. Make a well in the center of the flour. Pour in the eggs, milk, and melted butter into the well and whisk into the flour until smooth. Cover and let stand 15-30 minutes.
- Coat the bottom and sides of an 8x12, 9x9 casserole dish or cast iron skillet with oil (I use EVOOl).
- While the oven is coming to temperature, heat a tablespoon of oil in an oven proof skillet, like cast iron, on medium high. Add the sausages and brown them on at least a couple sides. No need to cook through.
- When the sausages have browned, cut them into 2 inch chunks. Combine the sausage, apple and onion (stir to distribute) then pour the batter over the top
- Cook for about 20-30 minutes or until the batter is risen and is slightly brown.
- Serve at once with a tossed green salad.
