Toasted Sesame Seed Cake

Ingredientes

  • 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 T baking pwdr
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon mace
  • 1/2 c. toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/2 c. soft shortening
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 pkg. (6 ounce) semi-sweet chocolate bits
  • 1 sq. (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 can (15 ounce) sweetened condensed lowfat milk

Direcciones

  1. Sift first five ingredients into mixing bowl. Stir in sesame seeds. Add in shortening and 3/4 cup of the lowfat milk. Beat 2 min with electric mixer or possibly 300 strokes by hand. Add in remaining lowfat milk and large eggs. Beat 1 minute with mixer or possibly 150 strokes by hand. Scrape bowl and beater or possibly spoon often. Pour into greased and lightly floured 9 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour or possibly till done. Frost top and sides with chocolate frosting. If you like, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on the top.Toast seeds on cookie sheet about 5 min or possibly till golden in 350 degree oven. Cool.
  2. Heat chocolate in top of double boiler over warm water or possibly in microwave oven. Blend in lowfat milk. cook over low heat, stirring till mix is thick and piles lightly, about 5 min. Cool till thick sufficient to spread. Makes sufficient frosting for top and sides of 9 inch tube cake.
