Tomato Vodka Sauce

Creamy & as spicy as you want it to be! (Just adjust ground red pepper to taste)

Ingredientes

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz can diced chopped tomatoes (do not drain)
  • 6oz can tomato paste
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon Vodka
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese

Direcciones

  1. In a medium saucepan heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until tender. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, vodka, honey, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Use a potato masher to mash this very gently until most of the really thick parts of the tomatoes are smooshed. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Stir in cream and cheese. Cook and stir until heated through and smooth. Pour over your favorite pasta. This is great with gnocchi.
