Receta Top 25 Sankranthi | Pongal Recipes + How to make Indian Coconut and Rava Laddu | Sooji Ka Ladoo | Step by Step Recipe
by Siri

Has a week whizzed without a new post on this blog? Darn! there goes my New Year's resolution to publish two posts per week out of the window. But, my motto for 2014 in general is to say to myself every single morning - 'I Refuse to Give Up!'. So, here I am with a new recipe - "Coconut and Rava Laddu" (Sooji Ka Ladoo) for you all adapted from my BFF DK's blog - Chef In You. Just a handful of ingredients and less than 30 minutes of time is all that's needed to make my favorite laddu of all time.

..and with festive season right now, there is no better time to make these little goodies and enjoy with your friends and family.

Before I jump into the recipe, below are a bunch of other recipe ideas you can make for this Sankranthi/Pongal -

(or)

Ingredients:

Preparation:

1. Add a tbsp of ghee in a pan and dry roast semolina (sooji) for 5 to 7 mins on low flame. Make sure to continuously stir. Turn off heat and set aside.

2. In the same kadai, melt a tbsp of ghee and roast cashews & raisins. Remove and keep aside.

3. Add grated coconut and roast for 1 minute. Mix in roasted rava, cardamom powder (or crushed pods), raisins, cashews and lightly powdered sugar. Roast everything for 1 minute and turn off heat.

4. Warm milk and by adding little by little at-a-time make small ladoos. Store them in an air tight container.
