Traditional Native Macapuno Sweets

My grandma makes this sweets and i loved it!

Ingredientes

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups grated young coconut or sport coconut flesh (also known as macapuno)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Direcciones

  1. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil.
  2. Simmer and cook until the liquid clears. 
  3. Add the coconut flesh and simmer until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in butter and vanilla essence. 
  5. Heat through until the butter dissolves completely. 
  6. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool before serving.
