Turkey Avocado BLT Croissant Sandwich

There is a national restaurant chain which makes the most amazing Turkey Avocado BLT Croissant Sandwich… but their service is atrocious. At least in my neck of the woods it is. Every time we go, we vow to never return. Somehow we end up back there again, all because I am dying for their amazing sandwich. I have an obsession with sandwiches, you see, whether it is an Italian-style version or on a bagel or something slightly more exotic. Put things on bread and I’m sold. In any case, I have finally sworn off the Aforementioned Chain with the Lousy Service by simple recreating their best sandwich at home, and I’m happy to share it with you today.
If you missed my post on Best of Class ingredients, feel free to head over for a review, because the same concepts apply with this delicious sandwich. There is no gourmet cooking here to hide poor ingredients: What you see is what you get/eat/enjoy. So choose wisely.
Start by choosing the freshest, flakiest, butteriest croissants you can find. Try not to eat them all immediately… save some for sandwiches! Top with high quality turkey, thick-cut bacon, ripe, juicy tomatoes, and crisp green leaf lettuce. To finish this beauty off, slice up a Haas avocado (the ugly brown ones that taste the best) and place it on top. If desired, add mayonnaise to the top half of your sandwich. Of course you want to. It’s delicious. My favorite mayonnaise is Hellman’s (Best Yet to those of us West of the Rockies, but I’m not originally from West of the Rockies, so to me it’s still Hellman’s).
And there you have it: An easy yet DELICIOUS, swoon-worthy Turkey Avocado BLT Croissant Sandwich. And it’s wayyyyyy better than the one at your local chain restaurant because at your house, food is served with a smile and you actually refill the drinks occasionally. Be sure to tip your waitress!
Turkey Avocado BLT Croissant Sandwich Ingredients
4 flaky, buttery croissants, halved lengthwise 16 ounces high-quality deli turkey 8 slices thick-cut bacon, fried and drained 4 large green leaf lettuce leaves 1 large vine-ripened tomato, sliced 2 Haas avocados, halved, pitted, and sliced Salt and freshly ground pepper ¼ c. mayonnaise Instructions
Working with one sandwich at a time or assembling all four simultaneously, arrange 4 ounces turkey meat on the bottom half of a croissant. Top each with 2 slices of bacon, a lettuce leaf, tomato slices, and avocado slices. Season the tomato and avocado slices to taste with salt and pepper. Spread a layer of mayonnaise on the top half of each croissant and place on top of the sandwich. Serve immediately. 3.2.2708
