Ingredientes

  • 2 c. crushed strawberries or possibly blackberries (about 1 quart. berries)
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 pkg. powdered pectin
  • 1 c. water

Direcciones

  1. Prepare fruit. Sort and wash fully ripe berries. Drain. Remove caps and stems; crush berries.
  2. To make jam. Place prepared berries in a large mixing bowl. Add in sugar, mix well and let stand for 20 min, stirring occasionally.
  3. Dissolve pectin in water and boil for one minute. Add in pectin solution to berry and sugar mix; stir for 2 min.
  4. Pour jam into freezer containers or possibly canning jars, leaving 1/2 inch space at the top. Cover container and let stand at room temperature for 24 hrs or possibly till jam has set. Makes 5 or possibly 6 half pint jars. Can store 3 weeks in refrigerator or possibly one year in freezer.
