Receta Vanilla Latte Coffee Sugar Scrub inspired by the Febreze Holiday Collection
Well, October is finally over, which means we're smack dab into the Thanksgiving and winter holiday season. If you still need to wipe away some of those Halloween spider webs, the Febreze Holiday Collection will surely get you into the mood!
The folks at Febreze sent me three holiday scents to try: Frosted Pine, Apple Tart, and Vanilla Latte. (Toasted Almond and Sugared Cranberry are also part of the collection.) I loved Apple Tart but am keeping Frosted Pine to use when we get our Christmas trees up. We have aluminum trees, so I miss the smell of having fresh cut pine trees in the house during the holidays. Having a Febreze NOTICEables Frosted Pine scented plugin is so much safer than lighting a pine scented candle – and a lot neater than having to sweep up all those pine needles, too!
I really loved Vanilla Latte from the Febreze Fall Home Harvest Collection and was glad that my daughter didn’t steal it away this time. I’m one of those people who love coffee as much for the scent as the taste. And it’s so much easier having your home office smelling like a coffee shop than driving over to Starbucks.
The Febreze Holiday Collection is available at Walmart. To find out where, go to the Febreze Walmart store finder. You can also connect with Febreze on Twitter and Facebook.
Using the Febreze Holiday Collection as gift giving inspiration
Inspired by the Vanilla Latte scented plugin, Febreze created a recipe for a coffee sugar scrub with coconut oil. You can use this as a hand or foot scrub. This would make a wonderful homemade gift for friends, relatives or teachers and is easy enough for your children to help make! I’ve included a variation with pumpkin spice, but you can experiment with ground spices like ginger or clove, as well as extracts like almond or peppermint. You could also use pre-flavored coffees!
Just make sure to be aware of people’s allergies, so clearly label the ingredients on the gift tag, For example, you don’t want to give someone who’s allergic to nuts a coffee sugar scrub made with almond extract or hazelnut coffee!
For sugar, I like using a course one like Sugar In The Raw (either their organic or regular version) or an organic sugar, as both kinds tend to be more course than regular cane or beet sugar. I would avoid coconut palm sugar as it tends to clump or harden over time.
