Receta Vanilla Pavlova
Vanilla Pavlova for SRC
I love this time of month, you guessed it it is Secret Recipe Club time. I love seeing all the delicious recipes that everyone in this group has to offer. It brings me so much inspiration and gratitude. I have been doing SRC for a few years now and I never get tired of it.
The blog I got this month was Cinnamon Freud. Karens blog is full of wonderful recipes and it was hard to narrow it down to one, but I did. The Vanilla Pavlova with Berries won me over and that is what I decided to make. So when Karen is not making such wonderful treats, she is a counseling psychology doctoral student. She started her blog because she loves cooking and baking and decided she liked to blog about it too.
Vanilla Pavlova for SRC
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup or 4 ounces egg whites
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup super fine sugar*
- 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
- 3/4 teaspoon vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For serving: berries, whipped cream
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and draw a rough circle using a round pan the size you would like and flip the parchment over making sure you can see the trace on the other side.
Whisk the egg whites and salt until small peaks form. Add the sugar a little at a time until incorporated. Add cornstarch, vinegar and vanilla. Mix until just combined. Mound the meringue mixture in the middle of the circle. Flatten the top and smooth the sides. Cook for 1 ¼ to 1 ½ hours. The meringue should have risen and cracked all over. Turn the oven off, open the oven door and remove the Pavlova when it has completely cooled.
Top with whipped cream. Then sprinkle blueberries and strawberries over the top.
