Receta Vazhaithandu Rasam
Vazhaithandu Rasam Recipe
Ingredients:
- Moong Dal – 1/4 cup
- Vazhaithandu – 1 medium piece
- Tomatoes – 4
- Rasam Powder – 3 tsp
- Curry Leaves – little
- Coriander Leaves – little
- Asafoetida Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Lemon Juice – 2 tsp
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Cumin Seeds – 1/4 tsp
Method:
1. Chop half of the vazhaithandu into small pieces and extract juice from the other half.
2. Boil the moong dal and keep aside.
3. Heat ghee in a pan.
4. Fry the mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
5. Add moong dal, vazhaithandu juice, tomatoes and chopped vazhaithandu.
6. Add rasam powder, salt, asafoetida powder, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
7. Bring to a boil.
8. Remove and add lemon juice.
9. Stir well.
10. Serve hot with rice.
