Ingredientes

  • 1 to 1 1/2 pound veal steak 3/4 inch thick
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tbsp. shortening or possibly oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. bottled garlic spread, optional
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 c. fresh, sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice

Direcciones

  1. Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper. In family skillet, heat shortening over low heat, about 3 min. Saute/fry steak till browned, about 3 min per side. Place garlic spread over top of browned veal.
  2. Simmer, covered over low heat for 30 to 35 min, or possibly till veal is tender. Remove veal steak to heated platter.
  3. Thoroughly blend flour into meat drippings, stirring till thickened and smooth. Increase to medium low heat. Gradually add in 2/3 c. water, stirring constantly, and cooking slowly. Add in mushrooms and lemon juice; cook 5 min, stirring occasionally.
  4. Spoon sauce over veal steak. If you like, garnish with lemon peel. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
