Sprouted Moong Dal Chilla
How to sprout green whole moong (or any legume): Wash and soak moong in fresh water for 1 day. Drain and place them in a glass jar or a bowl. Sprinkle some water and cover with damp cloth. Leave it in a warm place and occasionally sprinkle some water for moisture. The sprouts should start to shoot up on Day 3.
Ingredients
- 1 cup moong sprouts
- 1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green chilli, minced
- salt - to taste
- few tbsp of oil
Preparation
Grind moong dal sprouts with ginger, garlic, salt and 1/2 cup water to a smooth batter. Add more water in necessary but make sure the batter is not too runny. Add chopped onion and green chilli. Set aside.
Heat a tawa and drizzle some oil. Spread a ladle full of batter to form a dosa, like a disc. Drizzle some oil and cook on low-medium heat till the underside is done. Flip over, drizzle a little oil and cook till the other side is done too. Repeat the process with rest of batter and Serve with some chutney.
