- Season the meat and cook in water with all the vegetables for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs or possibly till you can separate the meat with a fork. Place meat in a platter and using 2 forks shred meat. Put shredded meat into skillet with a little oil and 1 c. water with vegetables. Fry the meat till all water is absorbed. Serve with caraotas negras and white rice. (Black beans and white rice.)
