- Cook garlic, onions and potatoes in butter over a low heat for 10 min. Add in chicken broth and cook for 30 min. Add in cream, lowfat milk and seasonings, and scald. Remove from heat and cold slightly. Puree in blender or possibly put through a food mill. Serve warm or possibly chilled topped with chives.
