%20and%20the%20Long%20Island%20(the%20coast!).%20%20I%E2%80%99ve%20been%20dying%20to%20take%20pictures%20of%20our%20gorgeous,%20changing%20leaves%20so%20it%20was%20especially%20nice%20to%20have%20Adam%20behind%20the%20wheel.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebreakfasts%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBreakfast%20by%20buffalo.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20cup%20of%20coffee%20(a%20buttered%20rum%20blend%20from%20Target%20that%20had%20a%20rubbing%20alcohol%20taste%20we%20both%20hated)%20sweetened%20with%20SCM%20and%20lightened%20with%20skim%20milk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20a%20very%20nice,%20pumpkin-pie-esque%20yogurt%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETJ%E2%80%99s%20low-fat%20pumpkin%20Greek%20yogurt%20topped%20with%20some%20Nature%E2%80%99s%20Path%20Heritage%20Flakes%20and%20a%20dollop%20of%20sour%20cream%20whisked%20with%20brown%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20cereal%20bites%20were%20my%20favorite.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBreakfast%20in%20the%20leaves%20and%20on%20the%20go.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIced%20coffee%20with%20maple%20syrup%20and%20Silk%20Unsweetened%20Vanilla%20Almond%20Milk.%20%20For%20some%20reason%20I%20enjoyed%20the%20buttered%20rum%20far%20better%20leftover%20the%202nd%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOvernight%20oats.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20nearly%20empty%20Biscoff%20jar%20was%20filled%20with%20raw%20oats,%20almond%20milk,%20and%20chia%20seeds%20and%20then%20pumpkin%20Greek%20yogurt%20was%20stirred%20in%20the%20next%20morning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVery%20good,%20but%20I%20finally%20decided%20that%20this%20yogurt%20is%20a%20bit%20too%20sour%20for%20me,%20and%20I%E2%80%99m%20glad%20it%E2%80%99s%20gone%20now.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20normally%20try%20to%20stop%20after%201%20(large)%20coffee%20so%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20lose%20sleep,%20but%20I%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20turn%20down%20a%202nd%20when%20I%20received%20this%20e-mail:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFree?%20%20Yes,%20please!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20got%20a%20non-fat%20caramel%20brulee%20latte%20and%20loved%20it%20before%20ultimately%20determining%20that%20this%20flavor%20is%20too%20sweet,%20even%20for%20me.%20%20When%20December%20rolls%20around%20I%E2%80%99ll%20stick%20to%20eggnog%20lattes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECereal%20squared.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20packet%20of%20Vanilla%20Blast%20Snackimals%20that%20I%20got%20%E2%80%9Ctrick%20or%20treating%E2%80%9D%20at%20Whole%20Foods.%20%20%3C%E2%80%93%20such%20a%20good%20marketing%20idea;%20I%20loved%20it%20and%20now%20plan%20on%20buying%20a%20box%20and%20if%20I%20hadn%E2%80%99t%20tasted%20it%20I%20definitely%20would%20not%20have%20thought%20to%20purchase%20this%20particular%20cereal%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20a%20serving%20of%20Adam%E2%80%99s%20Boo%20Berry.%20%20%3C%E2%80%93%20not%20gonna%20lie,%20I%20liked%20this%20layer%20quite%20a%20bit%20too!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20topped%20my%20big%20bowl%20with%20raspberries%20and%20skim%20milk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20almost%20went%20back%20for%20seconds,%20I%20enjoyed%20this%20so%20much.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Elunches%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESunny%20side%20salad.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBaby%20spinach%20dressed%20with%20pink%20salt%20and%201%20tsp%20each%20evoo%20and%20honey,%20topped%20with%20TJ%E2%80%99s%2090%20days%20aged%20crumbly%20Gorgonzola%20(a%20cow%20and%20sheep%E2%80%99s%20milk%20blend)%20and%20a%20sunny-side%20up%20egg.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20that%20egg%20myself%20and%20was%20so%20proud,%20usually%20Adam%20has%20to%20make%20them%20if%20we%20eat%20anything%20but%20scrambled!%20%20And%20a%20Sweet%20Tango%20on%20the%20side.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20variety%20might%20be%20topping%20Honeycrisp%20this%20season.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBareburger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20got%20a%20small%20Cobb%20salad.%20%20Baby%20romaine%20/%20Wisconsin%20blue%20/%20turkey%20bacon%20/%20hard-boiled%20egg%20/%20Hass%20avocado%20/%20grape%20tomatoes%20/%20raw%20red%20onion%20/%20buttermilk%20ranch%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20them%20sub%20in%20aged%20fig%20balsamic%20for%20the%20ranch,%20but%20I%20ended%20up%20not%20even%20using%20it%20because%20the%20salad%20was%20so%20good%20naked.%20%20I%20need%20to%20find%20better%20lettuce%20for%20salads%20at%20home!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlus%20Adam%20and%20I%20split%20a%20side%20order%20of%20spicy%20pickle%20chips.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOut%20of%20this%20world,%20nice%20and%20crunchy.%20%20His%20parents%20loved%20their%20burgers%20as%20well;%20Bareburger%20is%20becoming%20our%20go-to%20place%20to%20take%20out-of-towners.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESe%C3%B1or%20Nacho.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20ordered%20another%20salad.%20%20Iceberg%20(boo%20nutritionally%20but%20nice%20and%20crispy)%20topped%20with%20pico%20de%20gallo,%20lime,%20queso%20fresco,%20and%20avocado.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlus%20a%20plate%20of%20Maduros%20which%20I%20shared%20with%20the%20table.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20love%20sweet%20plantains.%20%20We%20were%20all%20impressed%20with%20SN,%20and%20plan%20on%20going%20back.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edinners%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELeftovers%20magic.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20turned%20our%20Halloween%20mac%20&%20cheese%20leftovers%20into%20something%20magical%20by%20burning%20cooking%20them%20in%20a%20skillet%20with%20evoo,%20soy%20sauce,%20rice%20vinegar,%20and%20eggs.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETopped%20with%20sour%20cream%20and%20Sriracha,%20the%20former%20of%20which%20was%20a%20big%20mistake.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20didn%E2%80%99t%20have%20to%20cook.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20MIL%20always%20brings%20Adam%20pot%20roast%20when%20she%20visits%20and%20this%20time%20she%20made%20me%20a%20dish%20too.%20%20Seasoned%20chicken%20on%20spaghetti%20with%20tomatoes%20and%20balsamic%20vinegar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20our%20vegetable%20component%20we%20ate%20the%20rest%20of%20my%20salad,%20topped%20with%20honey,%20evoo,%20and%20tons%20of%20blue%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThose%20big%20chunks%20of%20cheese%20were%20outstanding.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edesserts%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECookie%20monster%20ghost.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20MIL%20delivered%20sugar%20cookies%20that%20had%20been%20beautifully%20decorated%20by%20our%20nieces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECake(s).%20%20There%20was%20a%20lot%20to%20celebrate%20this%20weekend.%20%20My%20MIL%E2%80%99s%20birthday%20is%20today%20%7BHappy%20Birthday,%20Barb!%7D%20so%20Adam%20and%20I%20fulfilled%20her%20life-long%20tasting%20dream%20and%20picked%20up%20slices%20of%20cheesecake%20from%20Juniors.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETraditional%20and%20chocolate%20swirl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20since%20they%20weren%E2%80%99t%20sure%20when%20we%E2%80%99d%20get%20together%20next,%20my%20in-laws%20also%20came%20prepared%20to%20celebrate%20Adam%E2%80%99s%20December%20birthday%20(plus%20Christmas%20and%20our%20anniversary!)%20too.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELook%20at%20the%20giant%20slice%20of%20cake%20Adam%20served%20me%20alongside%20my%20cheesecake%20tastes!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20left%20behind%20most%20of%20the%20cake,%20but%20you%20better%20believe%20I%20ate%20all%20of%20the%20frosting.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20new%20best%20thing%20ever.%20%20I%20reheated%20my%20leftover%20plantains%20in%20a%20skillet%20with%20a%20bit%20of%20butter%20and%20brown%20sugar%20and%20then%20cooled%20them%20down%20on%20a%20bowl%20of%20Ben%20&%20Jerry%E2%80%99s%20Honey%20Vanilla%20Caramel%20Frozen%20Greek%20Yogurt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESurprisingly,%20this%20dish%20was%20Adam%E2%80%99s%20idea!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eleaves%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
