Receta White Sangria for National Moscato Day with Gallo Family Vineyards
It’s only been in the last 5 years or so that I’ve started enjoying a glass of wine in the evenings. Like most people who drink wine, I have a preference. While dry wines are nice for some, I’m partial to sweet and fruity wines. That would explain my adoration for beautiful sangria!
May 9th marks the second annual National Moscato Day, started by Gallo Family Vineyards. The Gallo Family has been making delicious wine since 1933 when brothers Ernest & Julio Gallo started the business. They were kind enough to send me three beautiful bottles of Moscato, a sweet Italian dessert wine, to try. I loved them all, though the Pink Moscato was my favorite! They have a great selection of wines to choose from. I chose to use white Moscato for my Sangria.
If you connect with me on Instagram, you probably saw these…
Sangria usually combines a sweet wine, some sort of liqueur, and sometimes soda water. Then you add a bunch of gorgeous fresh fruit and let it sit. Yum!
As I said, I chose white Moscato, plus I added in Triple-Sec Liqueur, orange flavored, and club soda.
I sliced up one orange, an apple, a peach, and a small lemon.
I also added some strawberries, and threw in blueberries and blackberries as well.
Stir it all up.
Gaze into its beautiful eyes…
You really should let the flavors meld in the fridge, but I won’t judge if you have a glass now! This sangria was absolutely delicious, and perfect for the warm days of summer! I can’t wait to make more and try other wines and liqueurs.
On May 9th I’ll be attending the @GalloFamily National #MoscatoDay #gno Twitter party from 9-10 p.m. ET and I really hope to see you there! Twitter parties are fun and you can attend while sitting on the living room couch curled up with a glass of wine, OR my sangria!
