Whole Wheat Soda Bread

Ingredientes

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp. melted butter

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a small cookie sheet. In a large bowl sift all-purpose flour, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt. Add in whole wheat flour. Mix well with a fork. Add in buttermilk, mix till just moistened. Turn out on well-floured board. Knead gently till smooth, about 1 minute.
  2. Shape into a ball. Place on cookie sheet. Flatten into a 7 inch circle. Dough will be about 1 1/2 inches thick. Press large floured knife into center of loaf into quarters. Bake 35 to 40 min or possibly till top is golden brown and loaf sounds hollow, when tapped. Remove, brush top with butter. Cold completely.
