- Heat deep fat to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients, beat vigorously 25 to 30 strokes. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, knead 10 times. Roll 3/8 inch thick. Cut with lightly floured donut cutter and place in hot fat. Fry 1 to 2 min per side. Remove and drain on absorbent paper. Glaze with thin chocolate icing.
- Heat 2 squares unsweetened chocolate (2 ounce) and 2 tbsp butter over hot water. Remove from heat and blend in 3 cups sifted powdered sugar and 1/4 cup boiling water. Beat till smooth and glaze donuts.
