Receta Zebra pudding
Dark chocolate and white chocolate no-bake egg-less puddings,
layered into a cute zebra pattern.
Dessert doesn’t always have to be grand or intricate or time-consuming or complicated. Sometimes you just want a sweet, creamy and fun dessert that is super easy to make!
Apologies for the fiddly alternative measurements – the recipe I use is in metric, so I converted it for my non-metric readers and these numbers were the result.
Have I mentioned how easy life can be with a scale? ;)
Makes 2 large or 4 small servings
Preparation: 30 minutes
Cooling & chilling: 1 hour or more
- Dark chocolate pudding
- 350ml (1 1/2 cups) milk
- 35g (2 1/2 Tbsp) unsalted butter
- 35g (2 3/4 Tbsp) sugar
- 25g (3 1/4 Tbsp) flour
- 50g (1 3/4 oz) dark chocolate, finely chopped
- White chocolate pudding
- 350ml (1 1/2 cups) milk
- 35g (2 1/2 Tbsp) unsalted butter
- 35g (2 3/4 Tbsp) sugar
- 25g (3 1/4 Tbsp) flour
- 50g (1 3/4 oz) white chocolate, finely chopped
For each pudding
Heat the milk to steaming in a small saucepan. Keep warm.
In a second saucepan on low heat, melt the butter, stir in the sugar, then sprinkle in the flour. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth, then remove from heat.
Stir in the chocolate and a little of the milk, return to low heat and gradually add the remaining milk, stirring constantly until it heats to steaming and thickens, about 5 – 7 minutes.
Cover with a lid to keep warm while preparing the second pudding.
Spoon the puddings a couple of spoonfuls at a time alternately into serving bowls or goblets, creating a layered or zebra pattern.
Allow to cool completely and refrigerate until ready to serve.
