We are 19 weeks away from the end of 2014 can you believe that? At the beginning of this year I made a list of goals that I wanted to accomplish this year, unfortunately I didn’t hop right in and get started on changing my ways. If you never start … change can’t happen.

My goal for many years has been to lose weight and finally find the happiness I have been missing in my life. One thing I have come to realize is that although we may THINK we are ready to lose weight, we just might not be ready, and it’s OK if you are not! If you are not ready to lose weight or make the changes needed to lose weight then you will fail time and time again. Take it from me!

I have heard many people say that once you are ready, I mean really ready, something will click and you will focus and accomplish the task at hand. I don’t think any statement could be any truer when it comes to weight loss.

After the ZonePerfect Blog Forward challenge #2 “it” finally clicked! I started working towards my goal one step at a time, I even went on vacation and only gained 1 pound back after I had already lost 10. Although I am late to the weight loss party this year, I am here and I am focused! Better yet, guess what!!! I have lost over 30 pounds since ZonePerfect Blog Forward challenge. How great is that?

I can’t tell you how proud I am of myself. I am finally on the road to happiness and in a far better place physically than I could have ever expected. Although I have stopped and started working on my goals for 2014 that is the past and right now I am finally in the swing of things and my weigh is melting off.

I have no desire to stop lose weight either. I haven’t even allowed the idea of quitting to enter my head. I am so driven right now and I don’t see that drive dying down anytime soon. I have a huge goal in mind for the end of the year. My goal is to have lost 1/3 of my body weight by the end of 2014. It’s not going to be easy but it’s not impossible either.

If you are having trouble getting motivated and need to recharge the same excitement and drive that you had at the beginning of the year think about what was driving you at that time. What was motivating your desire to reach your goal? Write it down, post it where you can see it, you need it in your face. If it’s constantly in your face and you really want it you can and WILL reach your goal.

It’s important that you make small goals instead of big ones because it’s easier to reach the small goals, and a lot of small goals add up to big goals in the end. Sometimes we just need to see that we have made a small accomplishment or we just need to see 1 pound down to feel incredible.

Where do you stand today? What can get you where you want to be? Ask yourself these questions and focus on the answers. When you are ready you will succeed.
