Ingredientes

  • 1/3 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt Egg
  • 1/4 c. Lowfat milk*
  • 1 1/3 c. Finely grnd soda crackers, (about 36 crackers)
  • 40 x Liquid removed shucked small clams Vegetable oil for deep frying Lemon wedges

Direcciones

  1. In shallow bowl, combine flour and salt. In separate bowl, beat egg with lowfat milk. Place cracker crumbs in third bowl. Dip each clam into flour mix, then into egg mix; dredge lightly with cracker crumbs.
  2. Pour oil into deep-fryer or possibly saucepan to depth of about 2 inches. Heat till oil is 375 F or possibly till 1 inch cube of white bread turns golden in 50 seconds. Deep-fry clams, a few at a time, for about 2 min or possibly till crisp and golden. Drain on paper towels and serve garnished with lemon wedges.
  3. Makes about 6 snack-sized servings.*Substitute some of the juice from shucked clams if available.
