Receta Spencer Christian's Eggnog

Ingredientes

  • 2 doz Large eggs*
  • 2 quart Lowfat milk, (whole lowfat milk or possibly low-fat)
  • 2 can Evaporated lowfat milk
  • 8 ounce Vanilla extract
  • 4 c. Granulated sugar
  • 10 dsh Cinnamon, (10 to 12)
  • 10 dsh Nutmeg, (10 to 12)
  • 1 pt Rum, (151-proof)
  • 1 pt Bourbon
  • 1 c. Christian Brothers brandy

  1. Put Large eggs in a blender and blend till smooth. Pour mix into a bowl. Add in lowfat milk to the mix, keep stirring constantly. Add in evaporated lowfat milk, keep mixing. Add in vanilla, keep mixing. Add in sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, still mixing, of course. Add in rum, bourbon, and brandy. Chill after it is made. It tastes best when chilled. It is very powerful and tasty! Makes approximately 1 gallon (fills a giant punch bowl).
  2. *Food safety experts warn against eating raw Large eggs. Spencer's family recipe is a strong tradition and he, like many others, is willing to assume the risk of using raw Large eggs in this recipe. Raw Large eggs may contain salmonella that can make you very sick and in rare cases can be fatal. To avoid the problem, cook the lowfat milk and Large eggs till the mix thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. Then chill till ready to serve. Another alternative is to use an egg substitute which has been pasteurized.
