Shraddha Kapoor who is busy shooting for her next project ‘Rock On 2’, posted a picture while wishing a magical new year to her fans. Actress is reportedly having a magical 2016 because she signed the lead character in ‘Half Girlfriend’, directed by Mohit Suri.
Half Girlfriend is based on coming-of-age novel of Chetan Bhagat. It is a love story which revolves around a girl who hails from upper middle class family and a Bihari Boy. The story is based on the theme of how a class system is defined with Western culture. It also speaks about a Bihari boy, Madhav who falls in love with Riya, who is English-speaking, urban girl from high society. She is not interested in him. Finally, he convinces her to be his half girlfriend.
However, official announcement is still being awaited. Half Girlfriend is scheduled to come on floors this year. It will be shot in different locations, including Delhi, Bihar and New York.
What Happens when Arjun Kapoor Replaced Sushant Singh Rajput?
After getting a glance of recently released pictures of Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in Ki And Ka, Arjun has been simultaneously working on his next. He got into the shoes of Sushant Singh Rajput who walked out from the lead role in Half Girlfriend. Only a few weeks ago, Sushant Singh Rajput was working with Mohit Suri but he had to leave the project because of the date issues with romantic drama from Dinesh Vijan. Hence, the makers decided to approach Arjun Kapoor while looking for the protagonist.
Arjun Kapoor was also busy shooting for ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and he also started taking Bhojpuri lessons to prepare for the role. The film is based on the love story of Riya and Madhav and there are some linguistic issues. A few days ago, Shraddha Kapoor was decided to play the lead character of Riya. The film is based on a novel of Chetan Bhagat of the same name. Half Girlfriend will be shot exclusively in London, New York, Mumbai and Bihar and produced by Balaji Films.
