I love veggies, of every kind. I love mexican, fresh fish, and am tired of eating chicken. I don't eat much red meat, but I love a good burger. I love ethnic foods, and could live on appetizers! My favorite things to eat/drink are: a seriously chewy homemade chocolate chip cookie, grilled salmon with homemade pineapple salsa, traditional bruchetta with goat cheese and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Oh, and a cold Molson on a hot day.

I try to follow healthy cooks. I like the magazine Clean Eating, and Cooking Light, of course.
My mother and my grandmother both cooked completely from scratch, all their lives, and they were both incredibly healthy all their lives. That inflence has always been a part of me, as much as I love to pick up a roticerie chicken at the market. I would love to get better at cooking from scratch, and have it come more automatically. my 82 y. O. Mother still makes her own oatmeal bread once each week, as she has done all her life.
I also want to learn how to put up foods in the summer. Canning was part of how to mark the seasons, in their homes.
Of course, they both never worked outside the home, and I am gone about 10 hours each weekday, and most Saturdays, too. Somehow, even if it's only simple dishes, I would like to make my meals from scratch.
