Acerca de mí
I retired in June from my teaching job, partially because health problems made it difficult to face the day to day pressure. I determined to spend the next year working on my health. To that end, I rejoined Weight Watchers for the umpteenth time. Since I have a significant amount of weight to lose, typically I tend to get bored after a few months and decide to take a vacation from WW. I want this time to be different and am looking for WW friendly recipes from all over the world to help keep up my interest and help me meet my goal.
Influencias de Cocina
I grew up in a predominantly farming community and my mother cooked and baked nearly everything from scratch. I only learned to measure for cooking and baking when I took home economics classes in high school. In addition to the United States, I have lived in Mexico and the Philippines and have learned how to cook some of the food I enjoyed eating there. I am an advocate of helping children learn to like a wider variety of foods to develop healthy eating habits and once taught a class for the Y called "Julia's Child Cooking."
