Love to cook, but now living alone, don't really cook much anymore. Except do get the chance to contribute to friends' dinners for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, the latter includes blanched, chilled aspagus with blue cheese dip I made up. Also, made up the dip for strawberries served with cake and punch at Confirmation reception at church. The bishop complimented me on it - so guess it's pretty good, but then what do bishops know about food?
As for other general things: I live on beautiful St. Simons Island on the coast of Georgia halfway between Savannah and Jacksonville, FL. Relocated here in 1977 from Michigan. Am a UofM alumna. Among other things, most recently worked here at the local, daily paper, The Brunswick News, on the Community Life desk for five years, eight months and two weeks, and then I quit. I now refer to myself as retired. (I do need to qualify the foregoing negative impression. I did work on the "Good News" desk and met many good people.)
On the more personal side, I have one son who is married and with his wife, I have two gorgeous, bright, perfect grandchildren. Or almost perfect. Ella Grace, three, in the words of her other grandmother, "The Drama Queen" can count to 30 and knows the alphabet and several other things that at times surprise us all. Coen, one and half, is all boy and H___ on wheels. He can't count to 30.
So much for me. Hope I didn't bore you if you bothered to read this.

Restaurantes que recomiendo
- Delany's Bistro (St. Simons Island, GA)
- Expensive, but really good.
- Southern Soul (St. Simons Island, GA)
- Not really a restaurant. More of a BBQ place. Guy Fieri liked it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
- Nachos (St. Simons Island, GA)
- Very authentic Mexican.
- Fancy Q (St. Simons Island, GA)
- Japanese. My son really likes their Sushi. I'm more of a hibachi person.
- Osaka (St. Simons Island, GA)
- Japanese. Also a big sushi place, but they do teppanaki (sp?) for dinner as well. Love their clear onion soup.
- The Purple Pickle (Darien, GA)
- Have only been for lunch. Interesting and tasty menu. Eclectic decor.
- New Hong Kong (Brunswick, GA)
- Casual Chinese. Buffet all day or menu. Not the greatest Chinese restaurant I've ever been in, but food is consistent and not pre-prepared as with the 1,000 item buffets. Love their chicken wings.
- Frederica House (St. Simons Island, GA)
- Best shrimp on St. Simons. Good steaks. Consistent in quality. Friendly, casual atmosphere.
