Green Bay, WI. native~G.B. Packer fan since birth! Milwaukee Brewer fanatic also! Avid Badger Football & Basketball fan, as well as Marquette "Warrior" Basketball & Arizona State Baseball, Football & Basketball fan. Happily married for 30+ years to my college sweetheart, Joel. Slightly insane mother who has been blessed x two with the most wonderful children I ever could have asked for!
Baseball fanatic Andrew, a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Broadcast Journalism & Mass Communication at Arizona State University, is an Associate Content Manager/online Brewers and Bucks writer for Fox Sports WI./Fox Sports North (MN.), as well as an assistant varsity baseball coach/p.a. announcer, assistant varsity girls basketball coach, and p.a. announcer at the home football games for his alma mater~Kettle Moraine High School. On the weekends in the spring and fall, Andrew is also a scout for the Perfect Game Baseball Program, as well as a contributing writer on occasion for Journal Sentinel Communications. Andrew recently won a second place national award from the Society of Professional Journalists in their "Mark of Excellence" competition for online journalism for a story some of his former editors from the Cronkite School at Arizona State submitted of his on the three graduating seniors on Arizona State Coach Herb Sendik's 2010-2011 basketball team. He was honored this past spring in a ceremony in L.A., as well as later on at the Walter Cronkite School at ASU. Andrew had the good fortune to cover the Milwaukee Brewers during spring training 2011 in Maryvale for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and actually got to fill in for Sports Editor Tom Haudricourt covering the Brewers for the Journal Sentinel when Tom had family matters to attend to. Andrew actually had some sports stories published on page 1 of the daily sports page in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel before he even graduated from college.I'm so very proud of my award-winning journalist boy!
My daughter, Marlayna, who is passionate about dance, is a junior at UW~Eau Claire, majoring in Special Education/Elementary Education. She loves to dance and enjoys her summer job, teaching dance~ballet, tap and hip hop, as well as poms and cheerleading at Kettle Moraine Summer Academy. Marlayna also works at Old Navy and is a nanny to two great kids during the summer months. During the school year, she enjoys working at Higher Ground, an on-campus NA night club at UWEC. On top of helping out with the KM Dance Team still whenever she has the chance, I am so proud of her for all of the volunteer work she has done, not only at Oconomowoc Hospital, but now as the assistant executive officer of the Best Buddies Organization at UWEC, which places special needs kids with a mentor, as well as a volunteer for the "3-5" Club, which provides tutoring assistance to children who need some extra help with their schoolwork.
I am an active AVON/Mark/Tiny Tillia Representative of 26+ years, who is proud to be involved with one of the very best companies when it comes to charitable foundations for women. The AVON Walk for Breast Cancer and the AVON Foundation for Domestic Violence are two of the most prominent charities that the AVON Foundation supports. Bravo to AVON for always remaining at the forefront of causes which are so important to women!
I am a creative person who enjoys spending time up north on a lake, campfires, music, photography, cooking, writing, fashion, traveling, art, fine wine, happy hour, laughing with my family and friends & attending sporting events and concerts. Better yet, drinking fine wine WHILE laughing with my family & friends while traveling or at a concert or sporting event~LOL! I love Arizona, Mexico, but Wisconsin & my beloved WI. sports teams will always be in my heart, no matter where I roam...I'm also a Lupus survivor who has just gone through a rough year and a half of illness but thankfully I'm walking again, my hair has grown back, and even though I'm not too happy with some of the side effects from the medicine I must now take for the rest of my life (primarily weight gain, which tends to happen enough rather naturally when you reach my age~UGH!), I'm bound and determined to not let Lupus run my life completely...even if some days it likes to kick me in the butt a bit! On top of being blessed with a wonderful family who I love dearly, I have been blessed with the very best friends anyone could ever have asked for! My many dear friends, as well as loving family, are truly what has kept me going through the many dark days of my illness. That along with my strong Christian faith are what keep me determined to keep on keeping on! ♥
