hummm... What about me??? I love to cook ~ I was taught by my Grandmother whose cooking brought people together ~ People would come from miles around just for her homemade breads, pies, and cakes, which she would give happily without being asked. She was an avid gardener with an acre garden, and her kitchen showed it ~ Canning, pickling and putting up produce was a family occassion, as was making fermented saurkraut in a gigantic crock. I still love large get-togethers where we're gathered in the kitchen, cooking, eating, drinking and laughing... Wonderful memories and I love making new ones for my family with handed-down recipes - I had a wonderful and loving teacher!

My German Grandmother started me off - I then, and still do, read cookbooks like they were novels [SMILE]. I love cooking and everything that goes with it
My most recent conquest was to master the Trinidad and Tobago roti! I have tried several times and miserably failed... But... the last batch I made turned out much, much better - that's because the last time I visited the West Indies, I video taped a woman making roti and I followed each step - Although mine was not as big as hers, I did get the "thumbs-up" from my West Indian husband! Yeah! I was so happy!
I am now working with unusual grains, for me anyway - making meals with quinoa, millet, amaranth and buckwheat. They have been very tasty and very light on the body.
