Ingredientes

  • 3 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 c. toasted wheat germ
  • 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1/2 c. each raisins and minced walnuts

Direcciones

  1. In a 6 to 8 cup bowl, stir together the flour, wheat germ, baking pwdr, soda and salt. In a separate bowl, put together the buttermilk, honey and oil; pour all at once into the flour mix, stirring just till all ingredients are combined. Add in raisins and nuts, being careful not to overmix the batter.Pour batter into a greased 5 1/4 x 9 1/2 inch loaf pan; bake in a 325 degree oven about 1 hour and 15 min, or possibly till a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. The loaf top should be slightly pebbled and evenly brown. Let cool in pan for 10 min, then turn out on a rack. Cool thoroughly. Makes 1 loaf.
