Ingredientes

  • 1 lb dry black beans
  • 1 lb dry red beans
  • 1 lb dry kidney beans
  • 1 lb dry navy beans
  • 1 lb dry great northern beans
  • 1 lb dry baby lima beans
  • 1 lb dry large lima beans
  • 1 lb dry pinto beans
  • 1 lb dry green split peas
  • 1 lb dry yellow split peas
  • 1 lb dry black eyed peas
  • 1 lb dry red lentils
  • 1 lb dry green lentils
  • 1 lb dry brown lentils
  • 1 lb dry cranberry beans

Direcciones

  1. Combine beans in a very large bowl. Pour 2 c. into a large wide mouth jar.
  2. Attach this to the Jar:15 Bean Soup Mix
  3. 2 c. 15 bean soup mix
  4. 1 smoked ham hock
  5. 2 cans 14.5 ounces stewed tomatoes
  6. 1 medium onion, minced
  7. 2 ribs celery, minced
  8. 1 clove garlic, chopped
  9. 1 bay leaf
  10. 6 c. water
  11. 1/4 c. minced fresh parsley
  12. 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  13. 2 Tbsp. salt
  14. 1 tsp. grnd black pepper
  15. 1 tsp. chili pwdr
  16. 1 tsp. grnd cumin
  17. Cover bean mix with water and soak overnight. Drain beans and place in a stockpot. Add in ham hock, tomatoes, onion, celery, garlic, bay leaf and 6 c. water. Bring to a boil over medium high heat; reduce to medium low, cover and simmer 1 hour. Add in remaining ingredients; continue to simmer 1 hour or possibly till beans are tender. Remove bay leaf before serving. Serve hot. If you really want to be thoughtful, you may include the spices in a separate bag included with the jar.
