Receta 15 Bean Soup Mix

Ingredientes
- 1 lb dry black beans
- 1 lb dry red beans
- 1 lb dry kidney beans
- 1 lb dry navy beans
- 1 lb dry great northern beans
- 1 lb dry baby lima beans
- 1 lb dry large lima beans
- 1 lb dry pinto beans
- 1 lb dry green split peas
- 1 lb dry yellow split peas
- 1 lb dry black eyed peas
- 1 lb dry red lentils
- 1 lb dry green lentils
- 1 lb dry brown lentils
- 1 lb dry cranberry beans
Direcciones
- Combine beans in a very large bowl. Pour 2 c. into a large wide mouth jar.
- Attach this to the Jar:15 Bean Soup Mix
- 2 c. 15 bean soup mix
- 1 smoked ham hock
- 2 cans 14.5 ounces stewed tomatoes
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 2 ribs celery, minced
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 6 c. water
- 1/4 c. minced fresh parsley
- 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. grnd black pepper
- 1 tsp. chili pwdr
- 1 tsp. grnd cumin
- Cover bean mix with water and soak overnight. Drain beans and place in a stockpot. Add in ham hock, tomatoes, onion, celery, garlic, bay leaf and 6 c. water. Bring to a boil over medium high heat; reduce to medium low, cover and simmer 1 hour. Add in remaining ingredients; continue to simmer 1 hour or possibly till beans are tender. Remove bay leaf before serving. Serve hot. If you really want to be thoughtful, you may include the spices in a separate bag included with the jar.
