Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 ounce Red food coloring
  • 3 Tbsp. Cocoa
  • 1 c. Buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 c. Cake flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Baking soda

Direcciones

  1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add in Large eggs, beating well after each addition.
  2. Beat in food coloring and cocoa. Add in buttermilk alternately with flour.
  3. Beat in salt and vanilla. Stir in vinegar and baking soda. Pur into two 8" round greased baking pans. Bake at 350 F. for 30-35 min. Cold. Frost with Icing:Icing: 1 c. cool lowfat milk 3 Tbsp. flour 1/2 c. butter1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla
  4. In a saucepan, stir flour into lowfat milk, making a paste. Cook over Low heat till thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and set heat and set aside to cold. Beat butter and shortening till well mixed; beat in sugar.
  5. Fold in cooled paste. Stir in vanilla. (You can add in minced nuts, if you like.)
