...I%20could%20use%20the%20left%20over%20tofu%20for%20the%20soondubu...we%20certainly%20didn't%20mine%20having%20extra%20tofu%20in%20our%20soup.%20It%20was%20already%20night%20time%20when%20I%20finally%20had%20time%20to%20unmold%20the%20cake.%20So%20pardon%20me%20with%20the%20two%20lousy%20images%20above...my%20%E8%80%81%E5%8F%A4%E8%91%A3%20(antique)%20camera%20can't%20seems%20to%20focus%20well%20under%20poor%20lighting%20conditions.The%20cake%20was%20easily%20done...with%20only%205%20ingredients...tofu,%20sugar,%20eggs,%20flour%20and%20oil.%20The%20only%20problem%20I%20had,%20as%20usual,%20was%20combining%20the%20egg%20whites%20with%20the%20yolk%20batter.%20I%20have%20deflated%20the%20whites%20a%20little,%20and%20the%20eggs%20I%20used%20were%20only%20medium%20sized%20ones...the%20finished%20batter%20was%20only%20able%20to%20fill%20up%20the%20pan%20to%20%20about%2070%25.%20As%20a%20result%20of%20the%20poor%20mixing,%20my%20heart%20sank%20together%20with%20the%20cake%20when%20the%20baking%20time%20was%20almost%20up.%20It%20shrank%20further%20upon%20cooling...and%20so%20my%20tofu%20cake%20was%20a%20little%20katek%20(short).There%20were%20many%20holes%20too...thanks%20again%20to%20my%20poor%20mixing...or%20maybe%20I%20should%20blame%20the%20tofu?%20The%20yolk%20batter%20was%20thick%20and%20a%20little%20grainy.%20Except%20the%20oil,%20no%20water%20is%20used%20in%20this%20recipe...it%20rely%20solely%20on%20the%20water%20content%20in%20the%20tofu.%20That%20is%20also%20why%20it%20is%20not%20necessary%20to%20drain%20the%20tofu%20before%20using.%20Here%20are%20the%20answers%20to%20my%20questions%20above:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20I%20can't%20taste%20tofu%20in%20this%20cake,%20not%20even%20smell%20it.%20It%20is%20just%20like%20a%20plain%20cake...luckily%20it%20is%20sweet%20and%20if%20not%20for%20the%20eggs,%20it%20will%20be%20like%20eating%20a%20slice%20of%20dish%20sponge?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20The%20texture%20of%20the%20cake%20is%20good%20though...light%20and%20airy...it%20could%20have%20been%20better%20if%20I%20have%20done%20a%20better%20job%20at%20folding%20the%20whites%20and%20yolks.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20There%20is%20definitely%20no%20trace%20of%20tofu%20baking%20in%20the%20oven.%20The%20aroma%20was%20similar%20to%20a%20sponge%20cake.%20I%20don't%20know%20why...but%20I%20kept%20expecting%20to%20smell%20tau%20huay%20%E8%B1%86%E8%8A%B1%20(%20a%20local%20soya%20bean%20curd%20dessert).%20Maybe%20I%20should%20replace%20the%20silken%20tofu%20with%20tau%20huay?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20the%20next%20time%20I%20were%20to%20make%20this,%20I%20will%20certainly%20add%20some%20flavourings%20to%20enhance%20the%20taste.%20Even%20though%20the%20cake%20has%20got%20nothing%20to%20cry%20out%20loud%20for,%20it%20was%20certainly%20a%20good%20experience%20for%20me.%20At%20least%20I%20am%20now%20more%20open%20to%20trying%20out%20different%20ingredients%20and%20not%20having%20to%20stick%20to%20the%20usual%20bananas%20or%20chocolate%20chips%20;)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20in%20case%20you%20ask...my%20first%20attempt%20at%20cooking%20soondubu%20was%20far%20from%20good.%20The%20soup%20was%20a%20little%20blend%20and%20taste%20diluted...despite%20having%20added%20shrimps,%20sotong%20and%20clams.%20My%20kids%20enjoyed%20the%20dish%20though...they%20were%20slurping%20away%20and%20the%20three%20of%20us%20could%20finish%20the%20whole%20pot.%20Wait%20till%20they%20have%20tasted%20the%20real%20thing...I%20am%20sure%20they%20are%20gonna%20be%20very%20disappointed%20with%20mummy's%20lousy%20cooking%20skills%20(%5E%5E''')%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETofu%20Chiffon%20Cake%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESieve%20flour%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20silken%20tofu%20in%20a%20mixing%20bowl.%20With%20a%20manual%20hand%20whisk,%20mix%20the%20tofu%20and%20add%20in%20the%20sugar.%20Whisk%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20in%20egg%20yolks,%20whisk%20to%20combine.%20Add%20in%20vegetable%20oil%20gradually,%20stir%20to%20combine.%20Sieve%20over%20the%20flour%20and%20whisk%20till%20the%20flour%20is%20fully%20incorporated.%20Do%20not%20over%20mix.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20clean,%20dry%20mixing%20bowl,%20beat%20egg%20whites%20with%20a%20handheld%20electric%20mixer%20on%20low%20speed%20until%20mixture%20becomes%20frothy%20and%20foamy.%20%20Add%20half%20of%20the%20sugar%20amount%20and%20turn%20to%20high%20speed%20and%20beat%20the%20mixture.%20Continue%20to%20add%20in%20the%20remaining%20sugar%20and%20beat%20until%20the%20egg%20whites%20reaches%20the%20soft%20peak%20stage.The%20soft%20peak%20stage%20is%20reached%20when%20the%20peaks%20of%20the%20whites%20curl%20over%20and%20droop%20slightly.%20The%20egg%20whites%20should%20appear%20smooth%20and%20glossy.%20(Do%20not%20over%20beat%20the%20whites%20still%20stiff,%20it%20is%20better%20to%20beat%20the%20whites%20still%20soft%20peaks%20for%20easy%20folding%20with%20the%20yolk%20batter.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20beaten%20egg%20white%20into%20the%20egg%20yolk%20batter%20in%203%20separate%20additions
