%20and%20mentally%20chastised%20myself%20afterwards.%20And%20then%20I%20thought%20stop%20being%20stupid,%20it%E2%80%99s%20just%20Nutella,%20I%E2%80%99ve%20not%20hurt%20someone%20or%20been%20mean,%20all%20I%E2%80%99ve%20done%20is%20succumbed%20to%20temptation%20and%20with%20that%20decided%20not%20to%20do%20it%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20have%20had%20to%20battle%20against%20the%20lure%20of%20Nutella%20in%20the%201940s%20because%20no%20one%20would%20have%20had%20this%20wonderfully%20evil%20substance%20in%20their%20cupboard!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20setting%20aside%20my%20noctural%20adventures,%20I%E2%80%99ve%20eaten%20quite%20well%20again%20today.%20My%20eating%20habits%20over%20the%20past%20few%20months%20have%20overall%20been%20pretty%20good,%20and%20with%20the%20fact%20that%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20smoke%20and%20apart%20from%20one%20evening%20with%20a%20few%20large%20drams%20of%20whisky,%20there%E2%80%99s%20been%20no%20alcohol%20for%20months%20either,%20when%20at%20work%20today%20I%20had%20the%20opportunity%20to%20have%20my%20blood%20pressure%20taken,%20I%20jumped%20at%20the%20chance%20hoping%20to%20be%20pleasantly%20surprised%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20178/90..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20being%20an%20ex-nurse%20I%20know%20that%E2%80%99s%20not%20very%20good.%20What%20I%20had%20completely%20forgotten%20about%20was%20the%20fact%20that%20just%20a%20few%20minutes%20prior%20to%20having%20my%20blood%20pressure%20done%20I%20had%20been%20walking%20about%20briskly%20on%20the%20factory%20floor%20and%20running%20upstairs%20(because%20I%20can%20do%20that%20now!!!%20Woo%20Hoo!)%20and%20that%20the%20systolic%20reading%20(top%20number)%20normally%20rises%20during%20and%20after%20exercise,%20stress,%20meals,%20coffee%20etc%20(temporarily)%20I%20also%20forgot%20about%20the%20fact%20that%20I%20am%20taking%20steroids%20to%20get%20over%20my%20allergy%20flare%20ups,%20which%20are%20notorious%20for%20raising%20blood%20pressure.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust%20seeing%20those%20numbers%20I%20panicked.%20I%20thought%20hell%20I%20know%20I%20am%20OBESE%20(I%20hate%20that%20word!!)%20but%20I%20eat%20well,%20exercise%20regularly,%20don%E2%80%99t%20smoke,%20drink%20little,%20normally%20take%20no%20meds,%20eat%20TONS%20of%20vegetables,%20don%E2%80%99t%20eat%20meat,%20try%20and%20keep%20the%20sodium%20down%20and%20processed%20foods,%20and%20have%20given%20up%20cheese%20and%20chocolate%20(oh%20apart%20from%20Nutella%20at%202%20am).%20How%20can%20that%20be%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20seriously%20thought%20for%20just%20a%20fleeting%20moment%20to%20chuck%20it%20all%20in%20and%20bury%20my%20face%20in%20the%20saltiest%20snacks%20known%20to%20man-kind%20(and%20finish%20it%20up%20with%20a%202%20litre%20bucket%20of%20Ben%20&%20Jerry%E2%80%99s).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20so%20upset%20internally%20that%20at%20the%20end%20of%20my%201%20point%20something%20hour%20commute%20home%20I%20went%20straight%20to%20the%20pharmacy%20and%20bought%20myself%20a%20blood-pressure%20unit%20and%20took%20two%20separate%20readings%20in%20the%20ASDA%20car-park,%20right%20there%20and%20then.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENORMAL%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E135/69%20followed%20by%20124/71%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20I%20got%20home%20and%20did%20it%20again,%20similar,%20nothing%20to%20worry%20about.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20I%20remembered%20that%20I%20hadn%E2%80%99t%20rested%20before%20my%20B/P%20reading%20at%20work%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%E2%80%99ll%20still%20keep%20checking,%20still%20keep%20being%20healthy%20and%20will%20get%20checked%20out%20on%20September%2023rd%20where%20I%20am%20going%20in%20for%20a%20health-check.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20now%20a%20little%20less%20frightened%20and%20a%20bit%20more%20optimistic%E2%80%A6but%20I%E2%80%99m%20NOT%20going%20to%20be%20complacent.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDAILY%20FOOD%20DIARY%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWeigh-In:%20272.4%20lbs%20(-%206oz%20in%20total%20in%203%20days)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETHURSDAY:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDinner:%20Large%20vegetable%20stew%20with%20lots%20of%20leafy%20green%20veg,%20broccoli,%20leeks,%20carrots%20and%20tomatoes,%20kidney%20beans,%20herbs%20and%20spices%20and%20bisto%20(450%20cals%20%E2%80%93%2020%20g%20of%20protein)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESECRET%20EATING:%202%20large%20spoonfuls%20of%20Nutella%20in%20the%20early%20hours%20of%20the%20morning%20because%20I%20have%20to%20walk%20through%20the%20kitchen%20to%20get%20to%20the%20bathroom.%20(400%20cals%20%E2%80%93%203%20g%20of%20protein)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETOTAL%20CALORIES%201775%20ish%20%E2%80%93%20Protein%2048%20g%20ish%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
